Workshop Activities
Setting the stage: We are asking participants to identify three main reasons that authority and responsibility may become significant issues in the playing field of future mobility, using an online tool like Mentimeter or Miro. The results will be displayed throughout the workshop to stimulate
discussions.
Mini Tutorials: We will then kick off the core content with mini-tutorials: two speakers (organizers) will give a presentation on the challenges posited by the roadmap of future mobility. This part will give a general overview of the workshop topic to familiarize participants. We plan with the following topics following the stages of a user-centered design and development
cycle with a focus on authority and responsibility:
(1) “What are the requirements when designing for authority vs responsibility in future mobility services?”
(2) “How can we design for seamless experiences when authority or responsibility are changing?”
(3) “What aspects have to be taken into account when modeling or implementing future systems?”
(4) “What type of evaluation methods do we need to adapt and adopt?”
World Café (1&2): We will then split the participants into multiple groups to let them discuss the presented topics from the tutorials in a World Café format. The groups discuss a topic at one table for twenty minutes before moving on to the next topic. In this way, ideas are disseminated across tables.
Lightning talks: After the first two World Café rounds, participants present their
accepted position papers as lightning talks.
World Café (3&4): Inspired by the lightning rounds and discussions during the break, the World Café will continue. In the last round, participants have the additional task of summarizing the most important points of their current table.
Table summaries: After the last World Café session, participants will summarize the main takeaways per table. The relevance of each research opportunity/challenge gets discussed with the goal to reach a common understanding of challenges, research gaps, and opportunities as well as requirements for seamless and convenient shared mobility.
